An　novel　and　convenient　electrochemical　approach　Was　developed　for　the　synthesis　of　indole　derivatives　from　catechols　and　alpha-oxoheterocyclic　ketene　N,O-acetals.　This　method　provides　ail　environmentally　benign　access　to　fused　indole　derivatives　containing　active　hydroxyls　and　carbonyl　under　mild　reaction　conditions.
