Abstract:
The relationship between magneto-vibration and magnetic treatment induced tensile residual stress reduction in the steel 45 was studied. The experimental. results show that the residual stress can affect on the magnetostriction behavior, and further on the magneto-vibration behavior. When residual stress existed, the value and the range of the magneto-vibration are different from those without residual stress, but move to those without residual stress gradually with the development of magneto-vibration. On the other hand, the residual stress in steel specimen can be reduced after magneto-vibration. Therefore it can be concluded that for steel materials the magneto-vibration and residual stress influence each other, and existed a non-linear relationship between the magnetovibration and residual stress.
