Abstract:
The fluorescence spectra of fullerene were first observed to change greatly in the system of C-60/C-70-pyridine-gold hydrosol, due to the adsorption of the fullerene molecules on the gold nanoparticles. The energy transfers between C-60 molecules and gold nanoparticles, leading to the quenching and enhancement of fluorescence bands centered at 450 and 700 nm, respectively. The fluorescence bands in the range from 550 to 800 nm of C-70 are enhanced, arising from the increased local field intensity through the excitation of surface plasmon resonance of gold nanoparticles, (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V.
