Abstract:

Sb-based alloys CoFe3Sb12 and FeSb2 have been prepared by vacuum melting and mechanical alloying process, respectively. Their electrochemical properties were studied with the lithium anode model cell of Li vertical bar LiPF6(EC+DMC)vertical bar CoFe3Sb12 (or FeSb2). The reversible capacities of the first cycle reached 485 mAh(.)g(-1) and 394 mAh(.)g(-1) for CoFe3Sb12 and FeSb2, respectively. It was demonstrated that the cycle stability of FeSb2 was better than that of CoFe3Sb12. There were 50% and 70% retention of the initial capacity at the tenth cycle for CoFe3Sb12 and FeSb2, respectively.
