Abstract:
Silane coupling agent was used to coat the surface of Sm2Fe17N. magnetic powders. Then the oxidation behaviors of the magnetic powders were examined at the temperatures of 200 degrees C and 300 degrees C. Structural formula of the silane coupling agent absorbed on the powders surface was investigated by means of Flourier Transfer Infrared Spectrometry (FT-IS) and Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES). Magnetic properties of the powders were tested by Vibrating Sample Magneto-meter (VSM). It is found that the silane coupling agent forms a net-like film on the powders surface by chemical bonding. Powders coating with the film possess excellent oxidation-resistant capacity as well as good magnetic performance.
