在过去的几十年中,文化研究成了西方最具影响力的学术思潮,而精英文化批判则是它的重要倾向之一.本文顺着英国＂文化与社会＂传统,追溯了精英文化的起源和发展,以及它与大众文化的对立.通过批判它对于少数派文化的尊崇和对于大众文化的排斥,揭示了精英文化的意识形态功能和控制功能.
