Abstract:
The microstructure, mechanical properties, and electron-emission properties of a newly developed heated cathode material Mo-CeO2 with 4.0% (mass fraction) of CeO2 were investigated. It is shown that the Mo-CeO2 cathode material possesses high tensile strength and good room-temperature ductility. After carbonized, the Mo-CeO2 cathode material has a higher zero field emission current density and a lower work function compared with the W-ThO2 cathode material.
