Abstract:
In order to obtain an HTC film having pronounced electronic properties on polycrystalline Ag substrates, it is necessary to have an appropriate texture. To determine the optimum method for obtaining a {1 1 0}<1 1 0> textured Ag substrate, we made a detailed study of the influences of annealing temperatures, annealing methods and annealing atmospheres on the formation of {1 1 0}<1 1 0> texture of Ag tape. The results show that these factors strongly affect the texture. A sharp {1 1 0}<1 1 0> textured Ag sheet can only be obtained by annealing in gaseous atmospheres and by heating slowly from room temperature to a high annealing temperature e.g. 900 degreesC.
