Abstract：

For　the　controversy　of　the　grade　factor　in　the　critical　speed　model　recommended　in　most　tunnel　design　codes,　the　effects　of　the　slop　on　the　critical　velocity　in　a　titled　tunnel　were　studied　by　the　numerical　and　experimental　methods　in　this　study.　A　1:　8　small-scale　titled　tunnel　model　was　built　for　the　experimental　studies.　The　grade　factors　to　the　critical　velocity　model　due　to　Kennedy　in　the　normal　level　tunnel　were　obtained.　(C)　2017　The　Authors.　Published　by　Elsevier　Ltd.
