Abstract:

This paper measured the flow characteristics, friction coefficient and forming limit diagram (FLD) at high temperature for hot stamping steel. The flow behaviour of hot stamping steel at high temperature was tested by using of Gleeble-3500 machine. Double power function and Hollomon equation were applied to describe its flow behaviour. The result indicated that strain rate and temperature has notable effects on work hardening of hot stamping steel. Self-regulating setups were used to test the friction coefficient and FLD at high temperature. Then the FLD results and affecting factors were analyzed and the suggestion for FLD calculation at high temperature was advanced.
