Abstract:
The cache coherent non-uniform memory access (CC-NUMA) multicore architecture becomes more and more popular in the high-end servers and data-center applications. However, there is no open source full-system simulator to simulate the CC-NUMA multicore architecture; which makes difficult for us to study the performance of the CC-NUMA multicore architecture. This paper presents a method to simulate the CC-NUMA multicore architecture in the gem5 full system simulator, then analyzes the performance of multi-threaded applications in CC-NUMA multicore processors. Experimental results of the PARSEC benchmark suite verify the aforementioned method and show that the CC-NUMA multicore architecture can achieve good performance and scalability for most multithreaded programs that we tested in this paper.
