Abstract:
The concept of ontology stems from philosophy to systematically explain and illustrate the objective existence. This interpretation does not depend on any particular language and concerns abstract nature of objective reality. Because of this characteristic of ontology, ontology has been widely used as a way of knowledge representation. Traditional ontology is defined as the relationship between them, which is appropriate to represent the static concept. But humans understand the real world taking event as a unit. In order to more accurately describe the objective world, this paper proposes a method for constructing event ontology model and applied this method to the field of mine safety, establish event ontology in the field of mine safety, which is important for knowledge representation and semantic retrieval on mine safety event.
