Abstract:

The measurement of the gear transmission error curves effectively is important for determining the tested gear's geometrical quality, transmission quality, error sources and noise. This paper presents the concept of the gear integrated error for analysing the transmission quality of the gear pair. The mathematical model of the gear pair integrated error and the new transmission error curve were detailedly studied. The gear pair integrated error curve (GPIEC) reveals the whole meshing process of gear pair, especially for the transition process of the teeth related to the mesh impact. GPIEC provide a new method to investigate the dynamic characteristics of gears and gear noise.
