Abstract:
The hydrogen-enriched gasoline engine is a promising option for future spark-ignited (SI) engines. However, the lack of quasi-dimensional combustion models for hydrogen-gasoline blends restrains the efficient prediction of its performance for varying operating conditions and hydrogen enrichment strategies. In this paper, a quasi-dimensional model was developed and validated for hydrogen-enriched gasoline engines with a new laminar flame speed expression. Correspondence between the calculated and experimentally measured engine combustion parameters was observed for different hydrogen addition levels. The comparison results indicated that the proposed quasi dimensional model is suitable for engine performance prediction of hydrogen-enriched gasoline engines.
