Campus　is　a　typical　spot　of　public　and　in　this　paper　survey　work　was　carried　out　on　some　sites　with　pedestrian　crowd　in　peak　time　on　campus.　Some　index　including　pedestrian　crowd　speed,　density,　flow　volume　and　Level　of　Service　(LOS)　were　measured　and　traffic　environment　and　pedestrian　behavior　was　analyzed　by　video　observation.　After　key　analysis　on　traffic　characteristics　and　behaviors　of　pedestrian　crowd,　the　inducements　influenced　pedestrian　crowd　traffic　safety　in　public　are　provided.　And　the　advices　prompted　crowd　safety　also　are　discussed,　which　is　multi　hierarchy　and　including　planning　and　construction,　common　crowd　management,　event　operation,　decision-making　on　crowd　evacuation　in　emergency　and　counterplan　for　emergency.　Furthermore,　pedestrian　traffic　simulation,　a　useful　and　efficiency　method　for　examination,　was　introduced　in　the　work　stages　of　building　design,　daily　use,　common　management　and　emergency　evacuation.
