Abstract:
To evaluate freight performance under the combined operations of surface and underground logistics systems, integrated logistics facilities network designs are depicted according to city logistic features. Then, the design basis of underground freight vehicles and a method for estimating intermodal transportation costs are proposed. Furthermore, based on the case of Beijing, the dynamic performance of transportation costs, overall transport capacity, flow configuration, and traffic safety external benefits for the proposed integrated network under different parameters of underground vehicle speed, departure frequency, and facility capacity is simulated and analyzed. The results indicate the following: (1) The combination of road and underground logistics networks is conducive for reducing city logistics expenditures while improving transport efficiency. (2) Compared with vehicle speed, the handling capacity of underground hub nodes and the traffic capacity of trunk tunnels have a more significant impact on the service level of an integrated network. © 2022, Editorial Office of Tunnel Construction.
