Abstract:

Based on a comprehensive traffic congestion analysis database, this paper conducts a causative analysis for urban expressway congestion. Firstly, based on the statistical analysis method of nonparametric test, the influence of each variable on traffic congestion is analyzed under the factors such as traffic control devices, road conditions, aggressive driving behavior, and environment. After that, based on structural equation modeling, the overall influence differences of various factors are derived, the important variables of various factors are inferred, the comparison of safety risk and traffic congestion influencing factors is initially derived, and the solution measures of traffic congestion on urban expressways are proposed accordingly. © ASCE.
