Abstract:
In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization and motorization, the number of urban motor vehicles has increased rapidly. Meanwhile, a growing number of long term non-mobile parked vehicles are appearing on the streets of Beijing. These vehicles are known as "Zombie Cars" because they are not used, moved or scrapped, and occupy urban resources. It affects the appearance of the city, urban traffic and residents' travel, and the urban problems brought by it are increasingly serious. This paper takes "Zombie Cars" in Beijing as the object. Through the analysis of the present "Zombie Car" situation using policy research and calculations, this paper will provide policy advice to solve the problem of "Zombie Car." "Zombie Car" is a new type of municipal waste, we should ease the impact of "Zombie Cars" on the urban environment to the greatest extent, and fundamentally reducing "Zombie Car" the damage to urban traffic. © ASCE.
