Abstract:
A new flat heat pipe-micro heat pipe array (MHPA) was used in solar cell cooling. The photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) integration components based on the MHPA can achieve the purpose of cogeneration by collecting and utilizing waste heat while reducing the battery temperature to improve power efficiency. In order to test the performance of PV/T module based on MHPA, instantaneous thermal efficiency test was performed to this module. The intercept of measured instantaneous thermal efficiency curve can reach 41.4%, the slope is 3.95, and solar energy utilization total efficiency in the condition of 20 inlet temperature in can reach more than 50%, and comprehensive performance efficiency can reach above 70%. Instantaneous thermal efficiency increases with rising of the outdoor environment temperature, and decreases with increase of cooling medium inlet temperature. The difference value of instantaneous thermal efficiency is more than 10% when the environment temperature is 6 and 19 . The PV/T module's instantaneous thermal efficiency of 20 inlet temperature is 8.5% higher than 40 . The temperature of PV componet is the key factor of the influencing electric efficiency. The PV/T module's electric efficiency is kept between 10.5% and 12.3% during the test. ©, 2015, Science Press. All right reserved.
