Abstract:
Greenhouse gas emissions are a major concern in sectors including industry, agriculture, and transportation. The main sources of carbon dioxide emissions are fossil fuel combustion and the utilization of secondary energy sources. The construction process of road engineering requires a substantial energy consumption. This stage plays a critical role in the transportation industry's greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, necessitating intensified efforts to mitigate carbon emissions. This study provided a summary of the theoretical foundation, calculation methods, and selection of carbon emissions factors in asphalt pavement construction. Having comprehended the current environmental impact of asphalt pavement construction, the study summarized the principles and methods for quantitatively calculating carbon emissions in the future. The reduction of carbon emissions in road construction is highly significant.
