Abstract:
In the past three years, COVID-19 has been threatening the world and posing great challenge to the medical and health system. Due to frequent and close contact with high-risk patients, pandemic prevention and control in hospitals are very important. Through the analysis of the surveillance video in a hospital A&E department of Hong Kong, behaviors of close contact and surface touch of 3 patients, 12 doctors and 12 nurses were obtained. Virus exposure via inhalation and deposition by close contact and surface touch was analyzed. The exposure risk by close contact is much higher than that of surface touch. In close contact, there was no significant difference in the infection risk between doctors and nurses. But the exposure risk of nurses was higher than that of doctors via fomite transmission. © 2023 Healthy Buildings 2023: Asia and Pacific Rim. All rights reserved.
