Abstract:
Ba1-xSrxTiO3 crystals were grown by optical floating zone method. The grown crystals of Ba1-xSrxTiO3(x=0, 0.01, 0.016, 0.02)up to 6-8 mm in diameter and up to 40-80 mm in length was obtained. In the process of experiments the solid-liquid interface is convex to the melt, and X-ray double crystal rocking curve shows that the samples have good quality. Some parameters like growth temperature, growth speed and rotational speed were optimized. Substitution of Sr2+ for Ba2+ in BaTiO3 was effective in preventing the formation of the hexagonal phase. The infrared transmittance of each component crystal samples were over 80%. The line, 489-496 cm-1, has been observed by Raman scattering. A conclusion can be made that there is rhombohedral phase which is related to the Sr-dependent.
