Abstract:
This study aims to elucidate the relationship between process specifically fiber layer, raster angle and infill pattern and the tensile mechanical properties of composite structures. Tensile specimens, fabricated with varying process parameters using Continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) composites printing equipment, underwent tensile testing to assess their strength and elasticity modulus. Additionally, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is employed to examine the fracture cross sections post-tensile testing to determine predominant fracture modes. This examination also revealed the internal mechanisms behind these modes and the impact of process parameters on microscopic defects such as voids, interlayer gaps and delamination. © 2024 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
