Abstract:
The normal stiffness and damping characteristics of a fixed joint interface with oily porous-media were studied with tests. A per unit area parameter identification method of an equivalent single degree of freedom (SDOF) joint interface with an adjustment coefficient was adopted to identify its parameters. Using the relative displacement method, a vibration system with arbitrary mass m was equivalent to a standard SDOF joint interface system with mass Me, and its stiffness and damping coefficients were recognized conveniently and rapidly with high identification accuracy. With the method mentioned above, the stiffness and damping coefficients were identified for a joint interface of 45# steel and one with oily Fe-based porous-media, respectively. By comparing the results, it was shown that the oily Fe-based porous-media joint interface has better dynamic characteristics than the 45# steel one does; in the case of the same pre-load, the former's stiffness increases by about 40%, and its damping increases about 5-6 times.
