Abstract:
Without pump to supply fuel, passive direct methanol fuel cell is a promising candidate for a potential portable power source. This paper investigate the influence of temperature and cell placement angle on the passive direct methanol fuel cell performance. The results show: 1) When the working temperature of the cell increase from 45°C to 82°C, the performance of the passive direct methanol deteriorate. 2) The placement angle affect the flow and mass transfer in the cell and influence the performance of the cell. When the placement angle is great than 90°, the cell performance ameliorate. 3) At different temperature, the placement angle show different influence on the cell performance.
