Abstract:
In this paper Fe-C-Ti-Cr system alloys with different B contents were prepared on Q235 steel by CO2 gas shielded flux cored arc welding method. The microstructure of the Fe-C-Ti-Cr-B alloys were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The abrasive wear resistance performance of the overlayer was evaluated on MLS-225 abrasion testing machine. The mechanism of wear resistauce was studied by the observation of attrited surface topography with SEM and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The results are presented as follows: with the B element increasing, TiC particles distributed more symmetrical and the number of the second phase and hardness of the alloy also increased. When the B content increasesd to 1.16%, a large number of carbides were flake away from the wear surface. The alloy with 0.55% B content exhibits excellent wear resistance, that is 3.7 times better than those without B.
