Abstract:
This study carried out the steam reforming of PRF93 (93% iso-octane and 7% n-heptane by vol.) to produce hydrogen by simulating the internal combustion engine exhaust heat. An apparatus was designed to conduct catalytic reforming experiments, and multiple parameters were adjusted to improve the hydrogen yield, while optimizing the test with orthogonal design. The test results show that when the catalytic reforming temperature is 650°C, the gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) is 196 h-1, and the ratio of deionized water over PRF93 by vol. is 0.30:0.12, therefore, the largest hydrogen volume fraction in the reformed gas is obtained, which is 54.23% and the relevant CO volume fraction is 19.44%.
