Abstract:
Leakage of manganese usually occurs in bio-filters for simultaneous removal of iron and manganese from groundwater is conducted in this paper. The paper argues that reduction of MnOx by Fe2+ causes the phenomenon of leakage of manganese. The reaction is affected mainly by mass of MnOx, concentration of Fe2+ and pH value, and which is promoted while pH value below 5.0 and inhibited while pH value is over 7.5. Released manganese concentrations showed quadratic curve relationship with mass of MnOx and also Fe2+ concentration.
