Abstract:

This paper systematically researches on the propagation characteristics and noise spectrum of water leakage by utilization of Fourier transform methodology, and it puts forward a criteria of Minimum Noise Level as key parameter and noise spectrum, the band and noise intensity distribution as auxiliary parameters to judge or early warn water leakage or pipe burst of water distribution network. The effectiveness of these parameters is verified by the site monitoring datum of water distribution network of Guangzhou Huadu Water Utility.
