Abstract:
The lead-free tungsten bronze Sr1.86Ca0. 14NaNb5O15(SCNN) ceramics with a relative density of 97.5% have been prepared successfully by CO2laser sintering. The optimized process parameters are laser sintering power density 1.99 W/mm2, laser sintering time 60 s, and raising/falling rate of laser power density 0.50 W/mm2·min. Compared with the furnace sintered sample, the dielectric permittivity at room temperature and 1 MHz of SCNN ceramics is enhanced from 1312 to 1419, the electromechanical coupling coefficient k33 and piezoelectric strain constants d33of the laser sintered sample are significantly enhanced from 17% to 27% and 60 pC/N to 93 pC/N, respectively. SEM reveal the grain size of the laser sintered sample decreases obviously. XRD patterns of ceramic disks demonstrate a preferred crystallographic orientation of the grains with their c-axes perpendicular to the laser irradiation direction.
