Abstract:

In order to research the practicability of strengthening the corroded structure with good ductile hybrid fiber reinforced polymer (HFRP), the flexural performance of RC corroded beams strengthened with CFRP/AFRP/GFRP laminated hybrid fiber sheets is researched experimentally in this paper. The results show that compared with the RC corroded beam, the cracking load, yield load, maximum load and ultimate load of RC corroded beam strengthened with CFRP/AFRP/GFRP laminated hybrid fiber sheets respectively increased by 14%, 35%, 102% and 109%, and the displacement ductility index only decreased by 11%. Based on the experimental study, the formulas for predicting the bearing capacity of RC corroded beams strengthened with HFRP sheets are established. The theoretical predictions agree well with the experiment results.
