Abstract:

Based on the rate equation, the expressions of average power and single pulse energy of high energy long-pulsed Nd:YAG solid state laser are derived. Additionally, the simulated optimum transmissivity and maximum output average power are given. As a result, a lamp-pumped pulsed Nd:YAG laser is developed by adopting plano-plane resonator. The laser outputs maximum single energy of 56 J, average power of 500 W with the beam parameter product of 16.5 mm. mrad, total electro-optics efficiency of 4.2%, the output power stability of ±2%.
