Abstract:

The objective is to regulate the trip behavior of cars and alleviate the traffic pressure by adjusting the parking price in urban central areas. The relations between the parking price and the mode of trip choice is analyzed by using a single factor regression model based on the survey data conducted in the downtown district of Beijing. A multiple-factor behavior model is established, which includes the factors of the parking price, the service level of public transit and so on, based on the disaggregated theory. The sensitivity of the parking price is also analyzed. The study reveals variable trends that the trip mode choice changes with the parking price under different conditions, and determines the equilibrium point of the parking price of the trip mode choice between the car and public transit or taxi, and the most sensitive interval that trip mode choice changes with the parking price. The conclusions provide references for the decision-making on parking price from the point of view of transport demand management.
