Abstract:

Asphalt rubber pavement can improve using property of road, as well as reduce traffic noise. To study the relationship between traffic noise reduction and component of asphalt rubber, based on the theories of what creates the tire/pavement noise, this paper analyzes traffic noise reduction properties of asphalt rubber pavement, and investigates elements in relation to traffic noise reduction of asphalt rubber pavement. The results indicate that the three important elements which influence traffic noise reduction of asphalt rubber pavement are AC content, aggregate grades and ratio of air voids.
