Abstract:
Pd/Al2O3 catalyst supported on honeycomb monolith was prepared and modified by loading barium, lanthanum and cerium. Catalytic combustion of natural gas was studied on a premixed combustor. The experimental results showed that the temperature of flameless catalytic combustion ranges from 500 to 900°C. Catalytic combustion is affected by velocity of flow and air/gas ratio. It can be carried out when the air/gas ratio ranges from 8.3 to 19 and the best catalytic combustion performance remains at the air/gas ratio between 11 and 19, with emission of CO and HC less than 10-5, and NOx less than 5 × 10-6 in the exhaust.
