Abstract:
According to transportation demand prediction for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, this paper presents the Olympic Emergency Evacuation Plan for Olympic Peak Days. Based on the link-node simulation network and field data, the paper also presents the models for calculating the evacuation time. In addition, the paper simulates the Emergency Evacuation Plan for the ninth day of the Olympic Games, and gets the results with evacuation time, likely jammed or delayed sections, evacuation traffic, evacuation travel time, and other parameters. The outputs of the simulation are given and brief analyses are presented that the Emergency Evacuation Plan for the Beijing Olympic Games is feasible. The goal of this study is to provide a technical support for the emergency management and decision for the Olympic transportation.
