Abstract:
The anti-fouling experiments using high voltage electrostatic field for heat transfer enhancement were carried out with the dynamic fouling test facility. The results indicated that, for the case of treatment with high voltage electrostatic field, the deposits on the heat transfer surface mitigated, and the fouling thermal resistance decreased extraordinarily with a scale inhibition rate of 56.5%. SEM showed that the crystal shape of the CaCO3 changed from a compact aragonite structure for no treatment case to a incompact indefinite structure for treatment case. And thus, it was difficult for the scale to form on the heat transfer surface.
