In　packet-based　real-time　network,　packet　loss　can　not　be　avoided,　which　may　greatly　damage　the　speech　quality.　This　paper　proposed　a　main-sub　speech　code　method　based　on　AMR　for　reducing　influence　of　the　packet　loss.　The　simulation　results　show　that　the　speech　quality　over　the　IP　network　was　improved　efficiently　with　the　proposed　method.
