Abstract:
The surface tension of aliphatic superplasticizer solution and ζ-potential of cement particles in Cement-Water-Superplasticizer system were studied in comparison with naphthalene based superplasticizer. The adsorption amount of two types of superplasticizer and their adsorptive characteristics on cement particles were measured and analyzed according to the molecular weight and functional groups. A multilayer adsorption phenomenon was concluded when superplasticizer was adsorbed on cement particles. Langmiur single layer adsorption may occur only in the case of low superplasticizer concentration.
