Abstract:
In the context, an off-and-towards-equilibrium (OTE) strategy which can be integrated with fuzzy control theory and applied to structural control is developed further in this paper. It not only has the merits of free from accurate mathematical models, fast reaction, small overshoot, good resistance to disturbances, but also solves the difficult problem on establishment of control rules. Based on this strategy, numerical simulations are employed to study the seismic response control of a multi-storey structure with an active tendon system (ATS) installed on the first storey. The numerical example demonstrates its feasibility by comparing the seismic responses of the structure using the OTE strategy to those of the structure using the LQR algorithm.
