Abstract:
This paper proposes an adaptive calibration technique for sample-time mismatches in a two-channel Time-Interleaved Analog-to-Digital Converter (TI-ADC). The correction technique is simple and is easy to hardware accomplish. The estimated structure employs a Hilbert transform filter and a low-pass filter to estimate the error caused by sample-time mismatch. The estimation and correction structure consists of a feedback loop, which can tracks and corrects the timing mismatch in real time. A two-channel TIADC prototype with 14-bit resolution and 500-MHz aggregate sampling rate was built to verify the proposed correction method. Simulation result shows that when the input signal bandwidth is limited to the Nyquist frequency, the SFDR can be improved from 29.83dB to 82.40dB, the SNR can be improved from 34.5279dB to 80.3617dB. © 2017 IEEE.
