Abstract:

Rutting is one of the common distress of asphalt pavement. The addition of modifier can improve the high temperature performance of asphalt binder but the fatigue resistance is the main concern of high modulus asphalt binder. This paper uses the 50# neat binder and mixes it with different modifiers to get two kinds of high modulus asphalt binder named 50# + RA and 50# + PR. Take frequency sweep test and linear amplitude sweep test based on dynamic shear rheometer to predict the fatigue life of asphalt binder. The experimental results show that high modulus asphalt binders show distinguished fatigue performance with the addition of different modifiers. © 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
