Abstract:
We detected the expression of telomerase in NIH/3T3 cells to investigate the potential adverse effects of long-term 1800 MHz electromagnetic radiation (EMR). NIH/3T3 cells were intermittently (5 min on/10 min off) exposed to 1800 MHz radiation at an average specific absorption rate (SAR) of 2 W/kg by simulating GSM (Talk mode). The telomerase expression was detected by ELISA. These results showed that the telomerase expression in group exposed for 60 days had no significant difference compared to the sham group, however, its expression in the 138 days exposed group significantly increased (p © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
