Abstract:
In this paper, an energy-efficient, distance-aware and QoS-guaranteed multi-path routing (EDQMR) protocol for WVSNs is proposed. The routing selecting and updating algorithm is designed under comprehensive consideration of the hop count, delay, the distance between hops and energy information. The path of the largest minimum residual node energy is used as an alternate path to increase the network stability. The path has gone through preemptive judgments. Before the node energy is running out, the alternate path is utilized for transmission in advance. Network simulation result shows that the proposed EDQMR protocol is superior to AOMDV protocol in performance. The packets delivery ratio has been improved and the system lifetime is prolonged at the premise of meeting the requirements of delay. © 2011 IEEE.
