Abstract:

Take the Metal Alloy Brace (MAB) for example, the energy dissipation technology is applied to a new curved bridge's anti-seismic design, as well as an old curved bridge's seismic retrofit. Through comparing and analyzing the effect of the energy dissipation technology used in the two kinds of curved bridge, the application characteristics of the MAB is summarized. This study shows that the MAB can be taken as a new energy dissipation technology applied to the new curved bridges' antiseismic design and the old curved bridges' seismic retrofit and the MAB can be widely used in the curved bridges' seismic control. © 2011 IEEE.
