Abstract:

Risk assessment of road segments is the foundation of risk assessment of transport route risk. So far, most researches on transport route risk are focused on hazardous material transportation, but the method of those researches can not be directly used in ordinary goods transportation. The effort of this paper will be made to study transport road segment risk of ordinary goods transportation. An index system of transport road segment risk is built on the analysis of road segments system, and the risk assessment of ordinary goods transportation on a road segment is achieved on the bases of analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and a fuzzy decision method based on continuous-interval-argument ordered weighted average (COWA) operator. The whole process of the risk assessment is not only useful to evaluate transport route risk, but also facilitate the risk assessment of intermodal transportation. © 2011 IEEE.
