Abstract:

Driving fatigue is one of the main causes of traffic accidents. Many researchers believe that electroencephalography (EEG) is an accurate and promising method to detect driving fatigue. Based on the theories of biocybernetics, this article developed an EEG-based driving fatigue prediction indicator, and the process of calculating it was detailed. After indoor-experimental verification, it was found that the indicator has a good linear correlation with spirit response speed. The results have implications for predicting driving fatigue and are helpful for future development of driving fatigue countermeasures. © 2009 ASCE.
