Abstract:
The reality of a simulation environment always determines its future contribution to users, a system with force feedback device that adds haptic feedback to previous visual feedback. In this paper, 3-D an interactive visualization system which can provide haptic feedback was designed to users and an example about the visualization of liver model was presented. First, an actual hepatic model from digital image was reconstructed by Amira software, and then the liver model was imported into our system. Finally, the model was manipulated to visualize the effects of force feedback used the industry's most advanced haptic device - a SensAble Technologies PHANTOM Omni - to provide continual force feedback for studying and manipulating the liver model. © 2008 IEEE.
