Abstract:

Most of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) pollute the atmosphere environment and are harmful to human health, hence it is urgent to strictly control the emission of VOCs. Catalytic oxidation is an effective pathway for the removal of VOCs, in which the key issue is the development of novel and high-performance catalysts. In this review, we briefly summarize the preparation and catalytic performance of regularly morphological transition metal oxide, mesoporous metal oxide, macroporous metal oxide, macroporous mixed metal oxide, and their supported transition metal oxide and noble metal nanocatalysts that have been investigated by our research group. It was found that catalytic performance was associated with the factors, such as specific surface area, pore structure, particle dispersion, particle size, adsorbed oxygen species concentration, low-temperature reducibility, reactant activation ability or interaction between metal oxide or noble metal (alloy) and support. In addition, the development trend in future work on such a topic has been envisioned. © 2019, Editorial Department of Journal of Beijing University of Technology. All right reserved.
