Abstract:
There are many factors influencing travel behavior of public transport commuters. To analyze the accurate travel demands and optimize public transport operation, it is necessary to find ways to obtain the influencing factors on travel behaviors of different public transport passengers. Based on RP survey data and multi-source data of Beijing public transportation, the commuter individual travel chains of public transportation with different stability (i.e., high, moderate and low stability) were extracted. Furthermore, for passengers with different stability, taking exogenous attributes and individual characteristics as exogenous variables, and taking single trip characteristics, departure time and trip purpose as endogenous variables, a structural equation model oriented to the impact relationship between individual departure time and trip destination was constructed. The study shows that the departure time and destination of high-stability commuters are obviously affected by individual characteristics. The departure time and destination of medium-stability commuters are greatly affected by single trip characteristics, while the departure time and destination of low-stability commuters are significantly affected by single trip characteristics and external attributes. © 2019, Editorial Department of Journal of Wuhan University of Technology.
